Our partner universities abroad

AMD Akademie Mode & Design offers students attractive opportunities to study and gain experience abroad. For this purpose, AMD collaborates with international partner universities all over the world. Whether you want to spend a semester abroad or do your internship in a different country, at AMD you have the opportunity to broaden your horizon internationally.  

Since 2016, AMD has been part of the International Foundation of Fashion Technology Institutes (IFFTI), a global network of leading educational institutions within the fashion and design industry. In 2021, AMD joined Cumulus Association, a global network for media, art, and design education. Furthermore, AMD takes part in the ERASMUS+ program that offers funding opportunities for internships and semesters abroad within the EU.

Fashion Design (B.A.) students have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation, which is part of the renoned Donghua University (DHU). Especially interesting for AMD students are the core disciplines of DHU: fashion design, textile techniques, international business, materials science, and information technology.  

The semester at Donghua University starts at the beginning of September. 

All credits earned at Donghua University will be credited towards your studies at AMD.

The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology has been cooperating with AMD since 2020. Fashion Design (B.A.) students can experience Down Under in the creative metropolis of Melbourne. RMIT is ranked the No 1 university for art and fashion in not only Australia but all of Oceania.  

You will be able to study amidst the creative hubs in Melbourne, arguably one of Australia’s most innovative and creative cities, known for its street art and music.  

The semester at RMIT Melbourne starts mid-February. 

Since 2013, the fashionable city offers an exchange program to AMD students studying Fashion & Design Management (B.A.). More than 10,000 students yearly enjoy the fashion capital at Berkely College.

Located between the Fashion District and Madison Avenue, one of New York City’s most fashionable shopping strips, you will be able to study right in the heart of the Big Apple at the Midtown Campus at Berkeley College.  

The semester at Berkeley College starts at the beginning of April as well as at the end of September with the opportunity to add an internship at the end of your stay. 

Milan is arguably one of the most fashionable cities in Europe. Since 2016, Fashion Design (B.A.) students have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at NABA, one of the most prestigious art and design academies.  

You can spend your studies at the campus in Milan, arguably one of the most famous fashion cities in the world. NABA offers you interdisciplinary and practice-oriented courses.  

The semester at NABA starts at the end of September. 

Students of AMD’s Bachelor’s programs Fashion Design (B.A.) and Fashion & Management Design (B.A.) have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad in Paris at ESMOD.

ESMOD was founded in 1841 and has since become an internationally renowed fashion university in the heart of one of Europe’s most famous fashion cities. Your studies at ESMOD will be practice-oriented, creative and international, preparing you perfectly for your future career.

The semester at ESMOD starts in September.

As Milan is one of the most fashionable cities, AMD is happy to have a second partner university in the Italian metropolis. Come 2023, Fashion Design (B.A.) students at AMD can spend their semester abroad at the IED.

You have the opportunity to study in the heart of Italian design at the IED campus in Milan, where you’ll meet like-minded creative people and lecturers.

The semester at IED starts in September.
